CHINESE FINELY CARVED DING-WARE 'LOTUS' LOBED DISH NORTHERN SONG DYNASTY 北宋 定窯劃花紋折沿花口盤the angled sides rising from a broad base, supported on a short foot ring, the lobed mouth rim characteristically unglazed, the interior finely incised and combed with a lotus flowering from long stems, covered in a warm ivory glaze with areas of pooling to the base 18.6cm diameter C. This finely carved dish with a lotus motif exemplifies the restrained elegance and refined craftsmanship for which Ding wares is renowned. Compare two similar ‘lotus’ lobed dishes of similar size: one sold at Sotheby's London, 5 November 2025, lot 69; the other sold at Christie’s Hong Kong, 4th Oct 2016, lot 101.定窯瓷器產自河北曲陽,位列宋代五大名窯之一,亦是該時期最負盛名的陶瓷傳統之一。此件雕刻精美的蓮花紋盤,體現了定窯聞名於世的含蓄雅致與精湛工藝。比較兩件尺寸相近之蓮花花口盤:一件售於倫敦蘇富比,2025年11月5日,拍品69;另一件售於香港佳士得,2016年10月4日,拍品101。
