The finely and densely carved hongmu hardwood cabinet, with both pierced and carved decoration, the drawers and door panels depicting cartouches of stylised floral sprays and scroll work, the top with a frieze of confronting archaistic chilong dragons in pursuit of a flaming pearl, the sides also carved in high relief with a similar design of more 'naturalistic-looking' dragons, the back section of the cabinet with a large pierced panel of ripe pomegranates with abundant foliage scrolls issuing from rockwork, below with smaller panels depicting prunus, bamboo and other flowering branches, standing on claw and ball feet with a shaped apron with carved ruyi clouds and lappets Size:(192.5 cm high x 111 cm wide x 39 cm deep) Qty: (1)
