Circa 1850s, Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) celery vase in clear flint glass, featuring a repeating Gothic arch panel design to the body and a scalloped rim with applied punty-style detail. Raised on a hexagonal knop stem and circular foot, exhibiting period hand-blown characteristics including mold seams and subtle irregularities consistent with mid-19th-century American glassmaking. An elegant and scarce early tableware form, produced prior to the widespread mechanization of glass manufacture. Developed during the Victorian period, celery vases were used to hold and display fresh celery stalks as a centerpiece on formal dining tables, reflecting the era’s emphasis on refined table presentation.
