Finely made Victorian art glass celery vase by Stevens & Williams, executed in peachblow cased glass with a graduated blush-to-cream body. The vase features a ruffled rim with amber-stained edging and applied thorny amber glass handles, enriched with applied white floral blossoms and green-tinted leaves in high relief. Intended for elegant table presentation during the Victorian period, to hold and display fresh celery stalks as a centerpiece on formal dining tables. In excellent condition without damages or restorations other than manufacturing irregularities typical of hand-blown and applied art glass such as noticeable surface air bubbles (Photo 5 and 6).
