AN ARCHITECTURAL MODEL FOR 'THE CENTRO CONGESSI DEL COMMUNE DI MILANO' DESIGNED BY ALTO LORIS ROSSI (ITALIAN, 1931-1997) Painted plywood and mixed materials Applied plaque with title, architect and maker of the model 'Matteo S. Remoti' 31.5cm high, 85cm wide, 66cm deep Aldo Rossi was a celebrated Italian architect, theorist and designer. He significantly influenced postmodernism and neo-rationalism and was the winner of the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Prize in 1990 (the first Italian to win this prize). He served as a director for the architecture section of the Venice Biennale in 1983, 1985 and 1986. His legacy includes buildings such as the Iconic San Cataldo Cemetery (Modena), the Piazza Grande and Casa del Portuale Grande (both Naples), as well as product designs for Alessi.
