An attractive bronze figure of Buddha, Thailand, Ayutthaya Kingdom, circa 15th or 16th century, the fragmentary figure wearing flared robes, his arms extended, with tightly curled hair and elongated earlobes, the figure 31.5cm high, on standProvenance:The property of a Gentleman W. Dickinson & Son, 108 , Wigmore Street, London July 21st 1908 (sold with a photocopy of the receipt, as the original was lost in a family move.)Sold with an Oxford Authentication TL certificate, N125h36, dating the piece to between 450 and 700 years old. 品相: an attractive crisp cast with obvious damage in that the hands and feet and part of legs are missing and also the usnisha or topknot to head and one edge of samghati or robe lost and head off and re-attached and with Verdigris to surface and most traces of gilding lost
