A Japanese Suzuribako, of rounded square form, the cover decorated in gold takamakie on a roiro ground with cranes, the interior with stylised waves in the manner of Ogata Korin, in gold hiramakie on a silver-white ground with scattered nashiji, silver mounted rims, fitted with a rectangular suzuri and mizuire in the form of a snail on a banana leaf in silver and copper, the Suzuribako approximately 17.5cm x 17cm. with wood storge box bearing a hakogaki for Shisendo, circa 1880-1900 品相： the lacquer in good conditionstorage box with wear and splits
