Hampson-Jones (1846-1916) (2) John McDougal was known for his watercolours of Wales, particularly Anglesey, and the Lancashire coast. He moved to Cemaes Bay, Anglesey, in 1900, the year the present watercolour was painted. He exhibited widely, including at the Royal Cambrian Academy.
