拍品描述
Reticulately carved with the four-character inscription chang yi zisun ('May prosperity endure through generations'), flanked by two pairs of stylized phoenix, with a further confronting pair beneath a cloud wisp above; the side incised with a Qianlong nianzhi mark and the inscription hao zi wu shi hao ('Number 50 of Hao'). (Length 5 1/2 inches) The inscription hao zi wu shi hao ('Number 50 of Hao') reflects a Qing court system for classifying and numbering imperial objects. Drawing on the Thousand Character Classic (Qianziwen), the system combined individual characters from the text with numerical designations to identify and organize objects within the imperial collection. *Any condition statement is given as a courtesy to a client, is an opinion and should not be treated as a statement of fact and Doyle New York shall have no responsibility for any error or omission.
