A large Chinese reverse glass painting, Qing dynasty, 19th century, elegantly dressed in a blue floral robe with red sleeve bands and with longer finger nails and holding a flower, image size 73cm x 51cm, carved hardwood frameLong fingernails during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) were a prominent fashion statement and a symbol of high status, wealth, and refinement, particularly among the Manchu nobility, imperial court officials, and aristocrats.
