This charming illustrated volume presents a series of humorous and satirical woodcut-style illustrations, reflecting the popular graphic traditions and social commentary of the period. The book is known for its playful visual narratives and period humor, making it an appealing example of American illustrated publishing at the close of the 19th century. The volume is bound in original publisher’s boards with a decorative printed cover title panel. Interior contents include multiple black-and-white illustrated plates printed in a woodcut manner. With armorial ex-libris of Robert Clarence Pruyn affixed to the inside front cover, documenting Provenance to the noted American diplomat and collector.
