Influential allegorical novel of courtly intrigue and statecraft, offered with the “Clave” (Key) clarifying proper names and political allusions. Engraved title page present. Bound in worn vellum. Armorial ex-libris bookplate of Robert Clarence Pruyn affixed to the inside front cover, documenting prior ownership. The present Elzevir edition is distinguished by the inclusion of the “Clave” (Key), a supplementary text intended to elucidate the proper names and allegorical references embedded within the narrative, enhancing its interpretive and scholarly value.
