A superb Japanese ivory netsuke of Shoki with an oni on his hat, signed, Edo/Meiji period (19thC), H 8,5 cm - W 3 cm - D 2,2 cm - 34g (+) Shoki with his sword at his side and dragonheads on his shinplates, screaming angrily at the demon nestling on his hat. Finely and expressively carved, with black stained engraving. Himotoshi on the back in the folds of his robe. Smooth, worn patina.
