A group of (8) pairs of assorted ear clips, each accented with pearls and turquoise executed in yellow gold. While all are fitted with screwbacks stamped "14kt" the overall gold content of the earrings themselves is estimated to be under karat, approximately 11-13kt. It is the opinion that the screwback fittings are later additions, likely applied after the original manufacture. The earrings may have originally been other forms of jewelry such as pierced earrings or components of larger pieces and were subsequently converted, with screwbacks added for wearability. Total approx. weight of all items is 46.5 dwt (gross). From a Westchester,NY esate.
