A fine group of three glass jars from an English Victorian toilet service, each mounted with gilt silver fittings. The lids are centered with prong-set, foil-backed Essex crystals, each depicting a coronet—likely that of an earl or countess. With a city mark of London, maker's mark of Thomas Whitehouse, and date letters of 1870. The jars were retailed by Austin of Dublin, a noted 19th-century Irish cabinetmaker and retailer. The smallest example retains an inner cork, which likely conceals or obscures the hallmarks. Total approx. weight of the (3) lids is 2.92 troy oz (gross). From a Manhattan, NY estate.
