A finely crafted Portuguese sterling silver Torah shield of traditional form, designed with openwork. The main body is a single large rectangular panel, from which are suspended twelve small shield-form medallions arranged in four rows of three, representing the Twelve Tribes of Israel. Each shield is individually rendered and decorated with its appropriate iconography. Total approx. weight is troy oz (gross). From a White Plains, NY estate. Dimensions: item measures approx. 9.25" w x 12.50" h. 品相： Good, with minor dings/dents and light surface scratches. Please examine the provided photos to thoroughly evaluate each piece. Item appears to have previously borne an engraving which has since been removed, now leaving a softened, lightly abraded surface consistent with careful alteration or erasure
