A Japanese 'clobbered' blue and white porcelain tokkuri (sake flask), Edo period, of slightly tapered square form, the shoulder painted in underglaze blue with a band of leafy karakusa scrolls, the sides painted with tree peonies, later embellished in iron red, green and gilt with further flowerheads, grasses and fence, unmarked, height 18.5cm.
