A Chinese Zitan Storage Chest, Guanpixiang

二十世紀初 紫檀官皮箱 Of rectangular form with a gently rounded cover above a pair of hinged doors, the chest is finely constructed from richly figured zitan and mounted with brass fittings. The front is carved with scrolling floral panels, while the interior is fitted with a lift-top compartment, four small drawers, and a larger lower drawer. Early 20th century.
