西周 玉戚 Carved from a smooth, beige-ochre stone with cloudy yellowish mottling throughout, the ceremonial axe blade (qi) is fashioned of thin, flattened form tapering to a straight butt and expanding toward a wide, gently curved cutting edge. The upper section is drilled with a clean circular aperture for hafting, flanked by small notched teeth along the side edges. Western Zhou Dynasty.
