拍品描述

Chinese Jades from the Ralph Wanger Collection Width 3 in., 7.5 cm Strikingly beautiful in its pale green stone with deep brown veining, the present lot is a superb example from the Qijia culture. For closely related cong in a similar style but taller in proportion, see two excavated from the Gansu province and included in Gu Fang, The Complete Collection of Jades Unearthed in China, vol. 15 Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia, Xinjiang, Beijing, 2005, pls 31 and 38. See also similarly undecorated examples, pls 32-34; as well as one in the British Museum, illustrated in Jessica Rawson, Chinese Jade from the Neolithic to the Qing, London, 1995, p. 154, pl. 7:3. For a similar example sold at auction, see one from the Xianquxuan Collection, sold in our Hong Kong rooms, 4th December 2023, lot 722.
