Chinese Red Lacquered Temple Drum & Stand 20th century, Chinese The red lacquered stand with lacquered hand-painted dragons to top, sides, and bottom. The top section of stand with gilt dragon head finials flanking the right and left (3D carvings). The drum is suspended from brass hangers. The drum features a stretched hide painted with phoenix and floral lotus designs on both sides. The barrel shell of the drum with gilt geometric brocade and panels of phoenixes. Six sided brass plates with suspension rings on the barrel sides. The stand is heavy duty and the drum is playable.
