Korean Celadon Melon Shaped Ewer, Bamboo Stalk Design Likely Goryeo dynasty, Korean Finely molded ewer shape with bamboo style handle and spout. The body features a bamboo stalk design. There are Japanese gold lacquer repairs to one side of the ewer. The bottom with four kiln spur marks. Inside of top with firing grit to rim. This type of ewer was first produced in the Goryeo dynasty (918-1392, first half of the 12th century). The technique and color of the celadon are very much in Goryeo style. As far as dating this piece, Mark would like to believe it is Goryeo, but he would like other connoisseurs opinions on it for dating, please look at photos closely.
