Large Magnificent Pair of Imari Palace Sized Vases 19th century, Japanese This large and high quality pair of Imari vases are a matched pair with a right and a left. The scenes are framed in underglaze cobalt blue with large panels of birds on perch, garden fence, flowers blooming. The side panels also framed in cobalt blue with flaming pearl design and large phoenixes. The neck with scrolling floral design with beautiful cobalt leaves and gilt highlights throughout. The inside mouth is painted in copper red with four scrolling lotus sections.
