Japanese Porcelain Charger w/ Three-Scroll Design with Calligraphy & Artist's Seals Meiiji period, Japanese Japanese porcelain charger w/ three-scroll design and calligraphy/ artist's seals on each scroll. The field or background with green, red, and gilt brocade design. One scroll depicts crabs climbing on basket with small jardiniere of flowers. The second scroll depicts a landscape scene with boat and tori gate. The last scroll with two scholars and a landscape beside a mountainous river. Back features an underglaze blue scrolling lotus design, now mounted with contemporary wire wall mount. This is a very unusual charger, Mark has not researched seals or calligraphy.
