Large Japanese Arita Double Gourd Raised Dragon Vase by Hichozan Shimpo Meiji period, Japanese A large Japanese Arita double gourd raised dragon vase by Hichozan Shimpo. The elongated double gourd shaped vase with highly raised dragon, flowing around the top gourd and down into bottom section. Small firing holes to body of dragon. Features flames, claws, scales, all glazed with a whitish-blue tint. The field of the vase with copper red and multiple panels of birds, flowers, ect. The bottom is signed with two rows of Japanese characters for Hichozan Shimpo.
