Rare Large Arita Double Gourd Vase 19th Century, Japan Late Edo to Early Meiji. This large and impressive double gourd with simulated silk cord around body with knot including tassels. Reminiscent of Chinese style of the 18th century. The neck and lower borders with geometric patterns and traces of gilding. The middle field design of chrysanthemums and templepoles with pomegranates in bloom. Bottom glazed with no signature. Mark Walberg's note: "I've had this piece in my collection for 19 years."
