A handsome mid-20th-century rectangular dress watch by the Hamilton Watch Company, produced in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, during the firm’s golden era of American watchmaking. This example features a classic rectangular gold-filled case housing a high-quality Hamilton Caliber 757 manual-wind movement. The interior case back is stamped “Hamilton W. Co., Lancaster PA” and marked 10K Gold Filled, with a case number S903858 and a B & W (Bieler & Watch Case Co.) maker’s mark, a known Hamilton case supplier of the period. The movement is signed Hamilton U.S.A., adjusted, and fitted with 22 jewels, consistent with Hamilton’s in-house production standards. The silvered dial is fitted with applied gold baton hour markers and matching hands, presenting a clean, understated aesthetic typical of Hamilton’s rectangular dress models from the 1940s to early 1950s. While Hamilton often assigned model names to watches of this type, no definitive model name is confirmed for this example. Based on case form and movement, it is consistent with watches from Hamilton’s rectangular dress watch line, sometimes associated by collectors with named models of the era; however, it is offered here without specific model attribution for accuracy.
