There is a small bridge over a stream with a lone figure walking toward a cluster of farmhouses. There are light ink-and-color washes on the paper. This type of spring landscape is strongly associated with?Nihonga,?and?it is an early to mid-Sh_wa?decorative painting. A number of factors indicate that this piece was painted between 1920 to 1940. This scroll measures 19 inches x 53 inches. This piece was acquired from a Metro Washington DC estate.
