This piece depicts a?sunrise or sunset landscape, a tranquil moment with pines and migrating birds, a theme expressing impermanence and natural harmony. The restrained composition and spare brushwork are consistent with Shinsui?s?ink-painting works from the mid-20th century, distinct from his more famous color woodblock prints.
