A finely rendered Chinese landscape painting in the classical?shan shui?(mountain-and-water) tradition, depicting a tranquil mountain retreat scene beneath a rising red sun. The composition features layered mist-covered peaks, a cascading waterfall, pine trees clinging to rocky cliffs, and a scholar?s pavilion nestled among the hills. In the foreground, a fisherman and attendant stand near the water?s edge, while cranes glide through the mountain pass above?traditional symbols of longevity and harmony with nature. Executed in ink and mineral pigments on paper, the work employs soft atmospheric washes and controlled brush line detailing characteristic of 20th-century literati-inspired studio painting. The architectural forms and figural elements are delicately articulated, contributing to the serene and decorative quality of the piece. The painting is signed Fang Xin?at lower right, with two red seal impressions. Mounted in a light blue woven silk brocade border and presented in traditional hanging scroll format.
