An early green-glazed pottery jar with incised decoration

Period Western Jin Dynasty (265-317) Description Of ovoid form, rising to a cylindrical neck with a flaring rim, the shoulder decorated with three narrow horizontal grooves, the upper section of the body covered with a translucent olive-green glaze. Dimensions H 34 cm Condition Report Wear from age, most noticeably an area with loss of the glaze at the upper rim. Some irregularities and firing flaws throughout. Possibly an old restoration at the opening.
