拍品描述
Period 18/19th century Description Painted in vivid mineral pigments on cloth, the wrathful protector deity Mahākāla shown seated upon a lotus throne amid swirling flames, wearing a crown of skulls and adorned with beaded jewellery and a tiger-skin apron. The dark body contrasts sharply with the fiery mandorla and multi-coloured clouds rendered in the upper register. Presented within its original silk brocade mounting of golden ochre tones with woven floral and auspicious emblems. The composition is characteristic of the Tibetan monastic workshop tradition, combining strong linework with rich iconographic detailing.
