Founded in 1894 on a legacy dating to 1672, Rongbaozhai is known for silk brocade cases, traditional xianzhuang bindings, and Xuan paper. After 1949, it became a state-controlled publisher, continuing to produce small-run collectible art books for elite domestic audiences and international collectors.
