Period Yuan/Ming Dynasty Description The cylindrical censer resting on three taotie-form feet, the body with two bands of alternating lotus pod and flower decoration in relief against a leiwen ground. Not marked. Dimensions H 8 cm, D 11.5 cm. Weight: 960 gr. Literature Ref: A censer of similar form and with identical feet, Hu Wenming marked, is in the Saint Louis Art Museum (object number 74:2014). Also compare to a censer in the Phoenix Art Museum (Clague Collection Number 248), illustrated in China’s Renaissance in Bronze The Robert H. Clague Collection of Later Chinese Bronzes 1100-1900 (Robert D. Mowry, 1993), p. 23, no. 2.
