拍品描述
Period Tibet, late 19th to early 20th century Description A finely painted Vajrayāna Buddhist thangka depicting a mandala palace with a central deity, surrounded by attendant figures seated amidst stylised clouds. Beneath, two wrathful dharmapāla guardians emerge from flaming aureoles, while further lineage figures are depicted above. Executed with meticulous linework and vivid mineral pigments, the composition is framed within a traditional silk brocade mounting retaining its original suspension fittings. Thangkas such as the present example served both ritual and meditative functions, acting as visual aids in tantric initiation practices and contemplative visualisation of enlightened realms. Dimensions Image size: 71,3 x 70,3 cm (including frame: 129,5 x 101,5 cm)
