A LARGE SHIRAZ WOOL CARPET, SOUTHERN PERSIA This lot is from a single owner collection and is therefore offered without reserve Early-mid 20th century. Rectangular in form, finely woven in shades of vermilion red, cobalt blue, and sage green, decorated with an elongated central field containing four alternating medallions of rectangular and lobed shapes, interspersed with stylized floral motifs and auspicious objects. The composition is enclosed by multiple concentric borders, each adorned with additional vegetal and geometric decorative patterns. The backside with white yarn stitches with a monogram and ‘51’.
