A RARE MINIATURE TURQUOISE FAIENCE AMULET OF NEPHTHYS, PTOLEMAIC PERIOD This lot is from a single owner collection and is therefore offered without reserve Egypt, 332-30 BC. In the form of the goddess Nephthys, depicted striding atop a rectangular base with her left leg forward and her arms held at her sides, finely modeled with facial features carefully rendered and headdress. The amulet drilled horizontally through the side for suspension. She is traditionally depicted as a female figure with hieroglyphic symbols of her name on her head, and is considered the sister of Isis, Osiris, and Seth. Nephthys played a crucial role in the myth of Osiris, assisting in his burial and mourning, and providing protection for the deceased in the afterlife, particularly alongside her sister Isis.
