A GROUP OF SIX TURQUOISE-BLUE FAIENCE AMULETS, NEW KINGDOM, DYNASTY XVIII This lot is from a single owner collection and is therefore offered without reserve Egypt, 1550-1292 BC. Comprising six faience amulets in colors ranging from bright turquoise to deep blue: four in the form of vases and two in the form of petals. Two with a loop for suspension. The elements shown here were intended for a collar necklace, so rings were attached at top and bottom so that the beads could interlock two strings. Literature comparison: Compare a closely related faience pendant in the form of a vase, dated New Kingdom, 2.5 cm high, in the World Museum, Liverpool, accession number 49.47.513. Compare a related blue faience bead in the form of a lotus petal, dated New Kingdom, Dynasty 18, reign of Amenhotep III, ca. 1390-1352 BC, 4.7 cm long, in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, object number 11.215.372.
