‘DRAGON SHROUDED IN DARK MIST’, BY NANHO, EDO PERIOD This lot is from a single owner collection and is therefore offered without reserve Japan. Ink on paper. Boldly painted with a dragon soaring through the clouds, partially obscured by the mist. Its round eyes gaze up, while the wind whips its distinctive long mustache. Inscriptions: Signed, ‘Nanho sha’ 南邦寫 [Painted by Nanho] with seal ‘Jui’ [The drawing of Felicity]. To the back of the scroll, ‘Tatsu no zu’ 龍の図 [Painting of a dragon].
