A SMALL BRONZE FIGURE OF DANCING KRISHNA, 17TH-18TH CENTURY This lot is from a single owner collection and is therefore offered without reserve The Jorgen Ruben Gallery Ledger, entry from 2005: “No. 167, BX Grisell, Indian dancing Krishna 16th-17th c.” Gallery price: EUR 1,300 or approx. EUR 2,200 adjusted for inflation at the time of writing. South India. Cast to show a dancing pose, on an incised lotus base, triumphantly holding a ball of butter. The naked body adorned with elaborate jewelry, his face with large almond shaped eyes below elegantly arched brows, and the hair tied into a topknot.
