A BLUE AND WHITE ‘IDYLLIC LANDSCAPE’ PORCELAIN SNUFF BOTTLE, 1750-1850 China. Of compressed globular form raised on an oval foot and rising to a cylindrical neck with flat lip, the sides decorated in underglaze blue with a continuous water and mountain landscape featuring a fisherman on a boat before a large brick gate, the reverse with two men crossing an arched bridge backed by rockwork and pavilions. The recessed base with a four-character Qianlong nianzhi mark in underglaze blue and possibly of the period. Stopper: Coral on a green glass platelet, carved spoon Dimensions: Height including stopper 9 mm. Diameter neck 23 mm and mouth 8 mm.
