TWO BRONZE BUDDHA’S ENLIGHTENMENT FLAMES, SIRASPATA, LAN NA KINGDOM This lot is from a single owner collection and is therefore offered without reserve Northern Thailand, 15th-16th century. Each finely cast, of four-sided pyramidal form, with two opposing faces articulated with overlapping flame motifs, while the remaining sides are decorated with a swirling central motif of ascending flames that extend across the surface. The smaller finial rises from a tapered shaft with a rounded circular base and culminates in a flanged conical termination. The larger finial emerges from a stylized lotus blossom and ascends to a tall pyramidal point. Introduced through Sri Lankan Buddhist influence, this luminous crest became a defining feature of Thai bronze sculpture, appearing in distinctive variations throughout the Sukhothai, Lan Na, and Ayutthaya traditions.
