A CAMEO AGATE ‘BIRDS ON BLOSSOMING TREE’ SNUFF BOTTLE, OFFICIAL SCHOOL, 1750-1850 China. Very well hollowed, of rounded square form standing on a short oval foot ring, rising to a cylindrical neck with a gently concave lip, carved in the round, utilizing the dark brown markings to depict birds perched on a flowering peony branch and rockwork, the feathers meticulously incised in short minute strokes. The narrow sides carved with masks suspending fixed rings. Stopper: Coral on black vinyl collar with hardstone finial Dimensions: Height including stopper 76 mm. Diameter neck 21 mm and mouth 9 mm.
