AN EGYPTIAN LIMESTONE RELIEF FRAGMENT DEPICTING AN OFFERING SCENE, OLD KINGDOM, 5TH-6TH DYNASTY This lot is from a single owner collection and is therefore offered without reserve The Jorgen Ruben Gallery Ledger, entry from 2005: “No. 89, JU 1982, Egypt. Lime. Relief of man offering. 6th Dyn.” Gallery price: EUR 7,500 or approx. EUR 12,500 adjusted for inflation at the time of writing. Egypt, circa 2494-2181 BC. Carved in sunken relief with a young priest in profile with his arm extended forward. The face is finely detailed with almond-shaped eyes under arched brows and full lips drawn into a gentle smile, all framed by a smooth short wig.
