AN EGYPTIAN WOOD SHABTI WITH A FITTED WOOD ANTHROPOID COFFIN, NEW KINGDOM, DYNASTY XVIII-XIX This lot is from a single owner collection and is therefore offered without reserve The Jorgen Ruben Gallery Ledger, entry from 2005: “No. 75, HH 1979, Egypt. Wood spare sarcophagus 18th dyn.” Gallery price: EUR 11,000 or approx. EUR 18,500 adjusted for inflation at the time of writing. Egypt, 1550-1196 BC. The shabti in typical mummiform posture, holding two hoes, wearing a tripartite wig and broad collar, preserved inside a fitted wood anthropoid coffin and lid pierced with holes along the edges for fastening.
