An Annamese blue and white chrysanthemum plate 15th - 16th century Painted to the central roundel with a large chrysanthemum encircled by a layer of leaves, below a band of scrolling foliage to cavetto, the exterior painted with a band of lotus petals, base glazed brown, 26cm diameter, together with a catalogue of Annamese Ceramics in the Museum Pusat Jakarta (2). A hairline from mouth rim to the centre of approx. 13cm long, a short hairline to foot rim of approx. 2cm long. Firing imperfections including cracks in the body, slight crazing to enamel, iron spots and pits. Expected surface wear commensurate with age.
