A Chinese Guangdong (Canton) school ‘Heroes of the Water Margin’ folding fan Late Qing dynasty The bamboo-framed folding fan painted in gouache with silver and gilt to the front depicting heroes from the Water Margin in a series of combat scenes within an expansive landscape divided into three sections by two banners reading shui bo liang shan ( Liangshan marsh ) and dai tian xing dao (carry out heaven's will), while the central pavilion bears the inscription Zhong Yi Tang ( Hall of Loyalty and Righteousness), the reverse inscribed in silver and gilt with the names of the thirty-six Heavenly Spirits, the Fifty Early Fiends, and their corresponding fictional characters' names, signed by Qian Guobiao, 53cm across when unfolded, 29.5cm long. 清晚期 水粉描金銀繪《水滸傳》梁山好漢圖紋竹扇，「錢國標」款 Sporadic flaking to paint, fraying and slight torn to paper from the fold line.
