Two Japanese lacquered table cabinets, kodansu 20th century Each painted with gilt and red lacquer on black ground, inlaid with metal coins, the hinged doors painted to the reverse with leafy flower stems, opening to reveal four smaller drawers, 33.4 x 24.4 x 13.5cm and 30.2 x 24.7 x 13.9cm (2). Condition Report: The cabinet with the samurai motif: Losses to one corner of the left door, of approx. 2.7cm across. One metal mount to the rear right side is lifting. Key missing. Cracks in wood to the top, back and left side commensurate with age. Two feet have been restored, one with replacement part. The other cabinet: Vertical cracks to the left side, the longest approx. 12.5cm. Otherwise generally in good condition, with surface wear consistent with age. Key missing.
