A Chinese 'qianjiang cai' twin-handled vase by Wang Shaowei (active 1862 - 1908) Late Qing dynasty One side attractively decorated using negative space, enamelled with a grove of tall trees framing the neck and upper section, above an elderly man reclining on the grass, the reverse inscribed and sighed Wang Shaowei with a read seal reads Wang shi, flanked by a pair of lion mask handles, 30cm high. 清晚期 淺絳彩繪樹林老者像雙耳瓶 鈴印:王氏 Wang Shaowei, along with Cheng Men, Jin Pinqing, are regarded as the 'three masters of Qianjiang cai' of the late Qing dynasty. He served at the Imperial Kiln Factory in Jingdezhen during the late Qing dynasty. Condition Report: Good condition, with expected minor wear to enamelling commensurate with age.
