A GEORGE II CARVED MAHOGANY BOOKCASE OR 'CHINA CABINET' CIRCA 1740-50 The foliate-carved waisted cornice above two doors with leaf-carved inner edges, filled with gilt trellis wire and enclosing adjustable shelves, above a Vitruvian Scroll band and quarter-veneered doors, on an egg-and-dart moulded plinth base 210cm high, 115cm wide, 45cm deep A bookcase from the Jasper Conran collection with identical decoration throughout including 'chicken wire' doors, probably from the same workshop, was sold Christie's 14th September 2021, lot 99 (£37,500 incl.
